This one is those who enjoy churches, temples and unusual landmarks on their bucket lists. The most iconic landmark in Inuvik is a circular building, constructed without blueprints. Sharing the same name as the iconic Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, Our Lady of Victory officially opened in 1960. Today, the Igloo Church is the most photographed attraction in town.
Length of Trip : 1 hour, although you can spend the afternoon visiting other sites nearby.
Cost : The tour costs $5 and can either be arranged by contacting the town office on Firth St, the Visitor Centre, or a local tour operator.
Best time to go : There are regular tour times during summer. In winter, check the town office on Firth St or with a local tour operator.

Where to eat : In Inuvik, I recommend the muskox burger at the Mackenzie Hotel (with brie cheese!) or the scrumptious fish tacos or reindeer chili from Alestines located in a school bus just around the corner.

Getting There : The church is located at 174 Mackenzie Road, the main road through town. It’s on the opposite side of the street of the Mackenzie Hotel, and impossible to miss. Free parking outside.
